2014-07-13 Hydro trying to put range extenders on private buildings

1)  RF Radiation and Magnetic Fields prevent deep sleep

Researchers have shown that deep, sound sleep is important so that our bodies can repair the damage done during the day, but exposure to RF radiation and magnetic fields can reduce the melatonin needed for good sleep. Dr. Mercola offers good advice that could help get that good recuperative sleep:

2)   Another good experience in Nanaimo:

I want to report a very good interaction and result from a Corix employee last Thursday in the Nanaimo Extension area. My meter had expired and on my way to work I noticed a Corix truck parked in my area. I stopped and asked the gentleman if he was exchanging analogues that had expired. He said he was and I asked if he could exchange mine with an analogue. He said no problem and that there would be no surprises. I thanked him and drove off confident that he would keep his word. And, he did. I was very polite in my request and I think this is important. These guys have a tough job. They do not deserve the anger sometimes directed towards them. They are the messenger.

3)  BC Hydro may be installing GRID EXTENDERS

IMPORTANT:   A member who lives in a large condominium building, with all the meters in a room in the basement, reported seeing 2 Hydro/Corix men roaming around the front of the building. When she asked them what they were doing, they reported that the $$meters’ signals could not reach the collectors, so they were going to be putting 2 ranger extenders on the building. When she asked them if they had been given permission by the strata committee, they grew silent and left.

There are many such buildings and everyone should keep an eye out. What right does Hydro have to put cell transmitters, and this is what these extenders are, on a building without permission, so that their commercial activities can be enhanced? If Hydro had done its homework before signing the contract for wireless transmitter, they would have discovered this problem and might have decided to use landline connections.

4)   “Scientists and Physicians Call On Health Canada To Protect The Public From Radiofrequency Radiation Exposure

An editorial by Dr. Magda Havas on the failure of Health Canada to do its job, and the declarations by scientists and doctors submitted in response to Health Canada’s agreement to accept public statements. I have included the 2 declarations in earlier updates, but you can connect with them via the links in Dr. Havas’s document.

Subject: B.C.’s Provincial Medical Officer is Derelict in His Duties by not protecting British Columbians from harmful NON-THERMAL microwave radiation

What is the basis for Minister Bill Bennett’s approval of Smart Meter’s safety?   if it had not been so sad, it would have been a joke:

As stated on the website page of the British Columbia’s Ministry of Health, Dr. Perry Kendall asked Mary Mcbride to write the page “Smart meters and Cancer Risk Statement”. On the website it is written that Mcbride is “Distinguished Scientist”.

But an investigative TV new program revealed that she is called a Dr. despite the fact that she is not. In addition, Mcbride’s studies are many times funded by the radiation industry.

The contents of Mcbride’s text on the BC Ministry of Health’s website, is misleading the decision makers and the public.

For example, she wrote:

“Smart Meters emit RF radiation, but only intermittently, and at a level several times below that of the highest level of personal exposures from cell phones, and well below existing limits for RF exposure to the public. Smart Meters generate an RF signal an average of only one minute per day.”

Mcbride used an industry argument here. This argument is explained on the website of the movie which exposes the fraud of smart meters:

“How many pulses of radiation does my smart meter emit per day?

Wireless smart meters around the world have been shown to emit between 5,000 and 190,000 pulses per day. Your utility may state they only transmit 45-60 seconds a day. This is because they are only adding up the millisecond pulses that occur constantly throughout the day. What they are not telling you is that the pulses occur every few seconds, which means that the meters are constantly emitting microwave radiation. Your smart meter is continuously communicating with hundreds of other smart meters, grid infrastructure, and in the future, all appliances in your home”.

Another example for misleading the decision makers and the public, is that Mcbride wrote:

“The large Danish study…did not find any excess risk of brain tumours among any group of cell phone users, even those with heavy or long-term use”.

In fact, this industry funded Danish study put the heavy users in the control group, meaning, the study included them in the non-exposed group, despite the fact they were the most heavy users.

The page of Mary Mcbride is the basis for the health approval of smart meters safety for Minister Bill Bennett. How sad is this for the British Columbians?

This misleading page is meant to mislead the decision makers and the public. It was approved both by Dr. Perry Kendall, and by Dr. David McLean, Head of Cancer Prevention BCCA.  Their approval of this misleading information proves that they are both public servants who work for the industry.

Dr. McLean is the head of Cancer Prevention, and he in fact endangers public health with cancer.

I hope you guys wake up soon,

Best wishes

but so far has not been printed:

We also were billed the full $64.80 Legacy Meter Charge for an estimated 2-month bill. We subtracted the meter read cost because:

In cases where BC Hydro does not obtain a bimonthly meter reading, the Commission Panel determined that the portion of the charge allocated for meter reading should not be charged.  In section 4.2.2 of the Decision (April 25, 2014) the Panel states:

“The Panel has considered circumstances where BC Hydro reads a meter less frequently than bi-monthly but bills the customer a monthly charge to recover the costs of bi-monthly meter reading and determines that making such a charge is unjust and unreasonable.”  (p. 57)

Accordingly, BC Hydro is directed to file, by June 30, 2014, a plan for ensuring that customers are not charged the portion of the fee required for meter reading when an estimated bill is issued.

The portion of the $64.80 for manual meter reading is $27.90 for an analogue meter and $30.08 for a radio-off smart meter.

So, WHY is BC Hydro charging customers when they’ve been instructed by the BCUC not to???
