2019-03-15 Sprint’s contract more important than children’s health

The parents and schools are requesting Sprint to move its tower because they believe they have no legal way to get out of the remaining 15 years in a contract. The school and parents are being told that so long as the emissions are within the guidelines, “the tower is operating safely.” I hope the parents and the people the in community cancel their Sprint service. Until corporations can be held responsible for endangering health and are allowed to hide behind the outrageous “guidelines”, the way to hit them is through money. If Sprint won’t cancel the school’s contract, everyone should cancel their contracts with Sprint.

WILL SPRINT REMOVE TOWER?

The district has formally requested that Sprint either decommission or remove the tower as soon as possible and noted in a statement that the proceeds from the placement of the tower are “negligible,” but admits that they are only 10 years into a 25-year contract with the company…

“However, it should be noted that approximately 10 years ago the district, before any of the current board members or administration, entered into a 25-year contract with the cell phone company which requires it to honor the lease for this tower location. There is no legal contractual basis on which the district can demand the cell phone company remove the tower, however we are working together with them to come to a mutual resolution.”…

In its statement, the district noted that they have required multiple independent tests to ensure that the tower is “performing within the guidelines established as safe by current government and global standards” and that the “tests have shown that this tower is operating safely.”“

2) Shelley Wright is a teacher in Ontario who is a victim of EMR, suffering serious EHS. She has prepared testimony which she wants to share. There are many teachers in BC, too, who are suffering health effects because they, like the more vulnerable children they teach, are exposed to wifi modems, wireless laptops, and other wireless devices all day every school day.

3) In South Carolina, many at public meetings are complaining about rate increases and higher bills, blaming the smeters that were installed recently. This seems to be a pretty common complaint, regardless of the type of smeter. Look at how our rates are increasing.

Dear Minister of Education, Rob Fleming,

It was exciting news when the Ontario government allowed the parents to make an informed decision on the banning of cell phones in the classrooms. It takes leadership to challenge what is popular and address the growing problem of cell phone addiction in our schools. It’s clear the constant use of cell phones is interfering with our children’s ability to interact and develop healthy relationships in the real world. This addiction is robbing our children of the opportunity to build life skills that include critical thinking, communication, cooperation, and the ability to focus.

Besides the negative impact this addiction has on learning, parents, teachers and students are aware of the known health risks from the unregulated exposure to microwave radiation emitting from these wireless devices. This decision will make a huge impact on the reduction of radiation exposure our children are experiencing in our classrooms.

Our Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry has refused to provide us with an official response to the 2018, current findings of the US National Toxicology Program and the supporting Ramazzini Institute Study who concluded there is “Clear Evidence of Carcinogenic Activity” and the association of cancer in the heart and brain and cell phone radiation.

It is a SCIENTIFIC FACT that this exposure causes many health effects, including cancers, anxiety, depression, autism, Alzheimer’s, hormone problems, DNA damage, infertility, etc. As documented in over 27,000 peer reviewed studies by scientists and medical experts https://www.emf-portal.org/en .

Parents, teachers and students have been told by Dr. Richard Stanwick, School Medical Health Officer, that microwave radiation, a known 2b carcinogen listed next to lead, DDT, methyl mercury, chloroform, and car exhaust, is an acceptable risk in our schools, is cancer an acceptable risk too?

You have decided for the parents of BC not to ban the use of Cell Phones in the classrooms and yet your child is benefiting from the ban of cell phones in Central Middle School. Does this sound fair?

Children are still putting these devices to their heads, abdomens and in their pockets when the Safety Manuals state” To be sure that human exposure to RF energy does not exceed the FCC, IC and European Union guidelines, always follow these instructions and precautions: Orient the device…away from your body… Why is the BC government refusing to educate parents, teachers and students the safe use of these wireless devices?
