1) Collaborative on Health and the Environment is holding a webinar on May 9, 11:00 PST to discuss the most recent developments re. EMR/EMF. It is free to participate.

As wireless technologies, particularly cellphones, become ever more ubiquitous in our culture and communication systems, researchers have been asking the question: what, if any, impact is there from this technology on our health? Research has been conducted investigating links with cancer, reproductive health, fetal development, children’s health, and electromagnetic sensitivities, among other concerns. We also encounter lower frequency electromagnetic fields produced by power lines, electrical wiring, and electrical equipment.
In May 2015, over 200 scientists signed the International EMF Scientist Appeal calling upon the United Nations and World Health Organization to address the emerging public health crisis related to cell phones and wireless devices and infrastructure. Electromagnetic fields have been classified as a possible carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) since 2012. And in 2016, the National Toxicology Program released partial findings from a multi-year animal study revealing an increased risk for cancer associated with EMF exposure.
Join us on May 9, 2018 at 11am PDT / 2pm EDT to learn about the latest science on health impacts of EMF exposure and possibilities for policy change. Dr. Frank Barnes, Distinguished Professor in the Biomedical Group of the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering at the University of Colorado, will provide some of the current state of the science on how weak electric and magnetic fields can modify biological systems and the growth of cancer cells. Dr. Barnes is co-author of the Handbook of Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields: Bioengineering and Biophysical Aspects of Electromagnetic Fields, soon to be released in a new edition. Dr. De-Kun Li, Senior Research Scientist at the Division of Research, Kaiser Permanente Northern California and reproductive and perinatal epidemiologist, will present his team’s December 2017 study, Exposure to Magnetic Field Non-Ionizing Radiation and the Risk of Miscarriage: A Prospective Cohort Study. He will also discuss his perspective on overall issues in EMF research. Dr. Joel Moskowitz, Director of the Center for Family and Community Health at the School of Public Health at UC Berkeley, will discuss policy-related developments. He will share his experience suing the California Department of Public Health in 2016 for not releasing a cell phone radiation fact sheet first developed in 2009. This lawsuit led to the issuance of the Department’s December 2017 Guidance Document, How to Reduce Exposure to Radio Frequency Energy from Cell Phones. Dr. Moskowitz will conclude with thoughts on possibilities and priorities in the policy arena.

2) Michael Bevington of Electrosensitivity UK [http://www.es-uk.info/] has shared 146 pages of info., studies, reports, data including fabulous references that pertain to various biological and health effects in addition to EHS. This is a great resource document.
“Selected Studies on Electrosensitivity (ES) and Electromagnetic Hyper-sensitivity (EHS)

3) People who are sensitive are being asked to participate in a study being headed by Dr. Gunnar Heuser [http://www.emfdoc.com/about.html]. I know nothing more about this survey.
EHS Study Questionnaire
“If you are EHS we hope you will participate in our new study. It’s not an fMRI, it is only a questionnaire so we hope you will participate. If you know someone who is too EHS to use a computer please print it out and mail it to them. Please do pass this questionnaire on to any EHS you might know of.”

Dr. Heuser reported on a recent pilot study that he says provides proof of EHS through MRIs. I am trying to find any peer reviews of this study and will share it if I find out more.
Pilot Study Shows Dramatic Difference In Brain Activity With EHS (Electrohypersensitive) Cases As Compared To Controls (Non EHS).

An email from a member re. the article about LED and CFL lightbulb, and my response.

“re #2, LED lights. It is difficult to find any articles about the effect of LED on eye health, beyond the sleep disruptions.
The blue light has the equivalent effect as sunlight on advancing the progression of cataracts and macular degeneration.
To prevent these conditions from developing, opthamologists recommend wearing sunglasses outside. In the home, LED lights should not be visible directly to the eye, but pointed upward or covered. I am suspicious of the effect of LED backlit TVs, but it is very difficult to find research about this.
My older friends and I have noticed a rapid deterioration in our vision acuity after acquiring the new LED backlit TVs, or fitting our home with LED light bulbs. The antidote is to buy tinted glasses that filter out the blue spectrum of LEDs, and to turn down the brightness of the TV screen. And computers and related devices can download a program that filters the blue out of the screens in the evening.”
Regarding her reference to the program that filters the blue light out of computer screens, I have shared this info several times. The program is at:
http://download.cnet.com/f-lux/3000-2094_4-75447318.html
You will be asked for your location and the program will automatically filter the blue light at sundown. Because my eyes are very sensitive, I said that I live in Newfoundland so that my screen is filtered many more hours than if I said BC. In response to her request for info/studies about LED and eye problems, I provided this info.:
“If you search “blue light melatonin production” you will see quite a few articles and reports. Here is one: https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/blue-light-has-a-dark-side
Here are others re blue light and eye health:
