1) New Westminster is leading with way with solar and reducing dependence on a utility company, e.g. BC Hydro [http://www.newwestrecord.ca/news/utility-hikes-coming-to-new-west-in-2017-1.2827989]. This is exactly what Dr. Timothy Schoechle was recommending to reduce the likelihood of having the grid hacked.

2) Microcell posters have been put on our website along with information about 5G / microcells. Posters and flyers could be printed off and put on poles, group mailboxes, etc. throughout neighbourhoods to help educate people about what is happening. As well, any of these could be printed and handed out at meetings, local markets, and at the UBCM conference. Just as was done with smeters, these things are being installed without people’s knowledge. Getting this info out there is vital.

Letters:
A comment on our website from someone who, as a professional, is familiar with CSA requirements for electrical equipment.
When an insurance company won’t insure a house for fire without a CSA approved heating unit people, immediately everyone Canada-wide put a CSA approved heating unit in their homes. Why, because it lowers the risk of your home burning down. And still the people that are concerned are quite few about this igniter/smart meter installed to their homes and businesses. As a Red Seal Welder, I am qualified to weld at CSA and CWB level and have certified many things in my career. But I Would Never Certify The Smart Meter! Because it poses a risk to everyone’s lives. And the cost of lives is what started the CSA approval standard many years ago. And I am trained and will uphold the standard to save people’s lives. And I will keep the SM off of my house! So far, so good.

Subject: Appropriate collection and use of the personal information of British Columbians
Attorney General Eby
You have stated: “British Columbians deserve to know that their personal information is being handled appropriately and in a sensitive manner
I agree. My concern relates to the information and data being collected by BC Hydro and FortisBC via smart meters. What prevents these corporations from sharing and/or selling our data? What restricts them from getting data that is not needed for billing, which is beyond their right to have? Nothing as far as I can see.
Data mining has become the new economic industry. Is it not time to implement safeguards and policy to prevent corporations, particularly those providing a monopoly service, from violating the privacy, misappropriation and misuse of British Columbians’ personal information?
May I have your response?
Thank you,
X
