2017-08-22 More pressure by experts to label EMR from all wireless devices as a carcinogen.

1)      Experts call for the classification of EMR to be increased to a “carcinogen”, up from the current “possible carcinogen” based on recent and multiple studies as well as review of prior evidence.  Industry and industry supporters continue to say things like “there is no consistent evidence of harm”, but there is a growing body of evidence showing that prolonged exposure to even small, minute levels of RF (like that from smeters) can cause serious, irreparable harm. We are being exposed to dangers without our knowledge, which is a violation of the Nuremberg Code. More and more experts are demanding that the WHO reclassify EMR from all wireless sources and to stop protecting the industry.

“… expert cancer researcher and advisor to the World Health Organization International Agency for Research on Cancer (WHO/IARC) has issued his scientific opinion that radiofrequency (RF) radiation from any source – such as the signals emitted by cell phones, other wireless and cordless and sensor devices, and wireless networks – fully meets criteria to be classified as a “Group 1 carcinogenic to humans” agent, based on scientific evidence associating RF exposure to cancer development and cancer promotion.

“The evidence indicating wireless is carcinogenic has increased and can no longer be ignored,” stated Dr. Anthony B. Miller at a July 31, 2017 lecture in Jackson Hole, Wyoming sponsored by the Environmental Health Trust where international experts presented the best available science on cell phone and wireless radiation. In 2011, WHO/IARC classified RF radiation from any source as a “Group 2B possibly carcinogenic to human” agent. Miller believes the evidence published since 2011 fulfills the requirements to re-classify RF radiation as a “Group 1 carcinogenic to humans” agent.

2)      Another Digital Meter fire in Saskatchewan. I wonder if anyone has looked at the possibility that the hot sun is causing these meters to catch fire.

Another meter box has caught fire at a Regina home, this time at a property that was on the list to be inspected for the problem that has caused numerous fires this summer.

Crews responded to the fire at 138 McCarthy Blvd. at about 2 p.m. CST Tuesday afternoon. Members of a family that was home at the time escaped without injury.

“There is some fire damage around where the power box was, as well as some blackening and some smoke damage around it,” SaskPower spokeperson Jonathan Tremblay said.

3)      Someone who has a smeter with the transmitter turned off saw the Meter Reader taking photos of it. When asked why, he said that BCUC had directed all “Radio-off” meters to be photographed. Why would this be? Has anyone else witnessed this?

Committee recommending changes to the Environmental Protection Act Parliament of Canada

Dear Chairperson Deborah Schulte,

I understand that your committee is reviewing Canada’s Environmental Protection Act and has paid particular attention, in sections 81 and 82 [s/b 61 and 62], to ElectroMagnetic Radiation. I commend you and your committee for the suggestions you have made.

As a member of a commission for the Islands Trust on Galiano Island regarding the siting of cell towers, I have been aware of the dangers of EMR since 2000 when we were first threatened with the erection of a tower behind our home. I have followed Magda Havas’ work, as well as that of Martin Blank, Ph.D and Dr. Henry Lai among others, in their attempt to wake up the population to the dangers of this rapidly emerging technology. This technology has made possible great strides in communication throughout the world and is a fixture of our societies today. But Canada and the US lag far behind other major countries in the world in their regulations regarding exposure to the wireless dangers. Our children are being subjected to wifi in their schools and cities are becoming saturated with wireless in all arenas of public life to our detriment. European countries have done independent research on this technology which has led to their creation of EMR free zones for citizens who have become electrohypersensitive and more stringent rules of exposure. The HESA committee of our own parliament made recommendations in 2015 for independent reviews of the dangers of EMR which Safety Code 6 does not address.

The recommendations which you and your committee put forward recognize the problems and attempt to address them. I heartily commend you for your work and wish you an intelligent and unbiased hearing from your colleagues. I hope that your work will not be shelved as the Cohen Commission was shelved. We cannot wait for the unfolding of the epidemic of ‘illness’ which exposure to this technology in its wireless form will unleash on our citizens and our medical system.

With sincere thanks,

X

and All other MP’s Listed Please support this initiative.

I am deeply concerned that the panel may become overly affected by Telecom interests much like the safety code 6 review was corrupted.

Recommendation 61
The Committee recommends that Environment and Climate Change Canada revisit the virtual elimination regime and implement a more effective regime.

4. Electromagnetic Radiation

The Committee received submissions from stakeholders regarding the biological effects of electromagnetic radiation, which may enhance the toxicity of chemicals. Professor Magda Havas of Trent University submitted that the various forms of electromagnetic frequencies adversely affect both plants and animals. Further, she submitted that “adverse biological effects occur well below existing guidelines provided by Health Canada (Safety Code 6).

Margaret Friesen provided evidence that electromagnetic fields can be an environmental pollutant that should be regulated under CEPA.

Recommendation 62
The Committee recommends that Health Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada conduct studies on the effects of electromagnetic radiation on biota, review the adequacy of the current guidelines provided in Safety Code 6 and report their findings back to the Committee.
