1) Dr. Magda Havas was on a Vancouver radio station this morning warning about the danger of having a substation under a school.

Researcher says substation below school could bring higher risks of cancer, other health risks
“They’ll (BC Hydro) tell you the guidelines that Health Canada sets for magnetic fields will not be exceeded and that’s a correct statement. But the guidelines that Health Canada has set are totally arbitrary, they have nothing to do with science and they’re certainly not protective,” says Havas, one of the country’s leading researchers on the topic.
“Those guidelines have been in existence for a long time and they have no relationship whatsoever with the scientific research that has been done on the health effects.”
2) BC Hydro sent ITRON 3 smeters that were supposed to have their transmitters disabled but in fact were not. ITRON found that this was due to human error. Are there others out there?
3) Telecom companies are devoting most of their energy these days toward installation of microcells, ones that no one notices, that can bypass many of Industry Canada’s and the Local Councils’ cell tower notification/consultation policies, but there are still cell towers being installed Below are links to podcast put out by the cell tower company’s lawyers which advises their clients how to do a successful application and combat testimony from the opposition. If you’re fighting a cell tower installation – know thy opposition – good tips on what to do and not to do. I will have these put on our website so if/when someone needs them they are readily available.
Tune in to this (free!) podcast series – a must-listen for wireless siting professionals who want to establish best practices for getting their wireless sites approved. Join attorneys Leslie Moylan and Dan Reing as they share their experiences and ideas for getting wireless site applications approved at the local level, and how best to build the record in the local process in case you have to appeal a denial in federal court.

5) Below is an introduction by Camilla Rees to a new important website, www.ManhattanNeighbors.org . She addresses a situation that everyone is facing today, to one degree or another.. She includes a link to a new document she’s published – “The Wireless Elephant in the Room”.
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It gives me great pleasure to introduce Manhattan Neighbors for Safer Telecommunications, an educational website that will empower people to live more safely with modern technologies.
Nowhere have I seen radiating antennas as densely situated as in Manhattan, and it disturbs me greatly to see my hometown (and much of the world) polluted in this way.
Not Connecting the Dots. Most people are not connecting the dots between the ever present, invisible exposures to electromagnetic energy in our midst and things like fatigue, attention and memory difficulties, insomnia, irritability, headaches, low energy, immune challenges, heart irregularities, inflammatory conditions, neurological conditions, depression and much more. And they do not understand the impacts on brain function from excessive ‘screen time’, or risks for brain tumors and other cancers from use of a cell phone.
Landlords Turn a Blind Eye. Landlords as well as condo and co-op Boards are accepting thousands of dollars from telecom companies each month to allow placement of transmitters on Manhattan buildings—on roofs, sides of buildings, or on water towers, for example. In modern high rise buildings, antennas are also sometimes placed in elevator shafts, without advising tenants of the transmitters on the other side of the wall, right next to a baby’s crib, perhaps, or inches from one’s pillow.
Neighbors Irradiating Neighbors. Neighbors are irradiating neighbors, using high-power, commercial grade, wireless equipment when safe connectivity solutions are readily available. Increasingly, out of ignorance, people also inadvertently allow neighbors’ data to be transmitted through their home modem, increasing personal exposures.
Entirely Avoidable Exposures. One of the saddest things is when people directly harm themselves and don’t realize it—keeping a cell phone in a breast pocket, over the heart, for example, or in a pants pocket, wondering why they have fertility problems. Very commonly, people sleep with a cell phone by the bedside, or with a wireless router or computer equipment nearby, not realizing that the wireless radiation being emitted all night long depletes melatonin leading to poor sleep quality and insomnia.
These are some of the reasons why I have recently published The Wireless Elephant in the Room, which you can read at ManhattanNeighbors.org. And it is what has motivated me to share my knowledge on this subject through Manhattan Neighbors for Safer Telecommunications.
We Can Choose
The encouraging news is that untold numbers of people recover health, happiness, vitality and productivity when committing to live and work in low-EMF (i.e. low electromagnetic field) environments. People get off prescription medications, greatly improve academic results and job performance, recover from illness and surgeries more easily, enhance creativity, improve interpersonal relations, experience reduced pain and inflammation—and very often can regain a vitality and enthusiasm for life where the missing ‘pizzazz’ was mistakenly assumed to be a result of aging.
Unfortunately, I have also seen people lose their lives from excessive wireless radiation exposures, like the Manhattan woman who lived behind the antennas on the right. This is one example of many EMF related deaths, suicides and situations of great despair I have encountered while immersing myself in this subject over eight years.
We Can Do Better
We can do better. For ourselves and our families. For our schools and employees.
There are other ways to live in relationship with technology that are much safer than the trend toward more and more wireless.
People must become educated on this subject because health, productivity, fertility and quality of life are rapidly eroding. In the lives of young people, a travesty is occurring as children become addicted to the dopaminergic effects of these technologies at extremely young ages before the brain has even fully developed. The DNA consequences for future generations of ignorantly blanketing ourselves in this radiation are frankly unfathomable.
I encourage you to please read The Wireless Elephant in the Room and explore ManhattanNeighbors.org. Learn what other countries are doing to protect people; how international scientists are warning; about the serious effects of screen time on children; and about new risk factors for real estate buyers in Manhattan. Get safety tips, parenting tips and a tremendous amount of high quality education from EMF scientists around the world at this new site.
We Need You
We can’t have the impact we want on our own, and with limited resources, and we need your support.
I am trusting when you learn the facts about wireless radiation risks, and understand the additional risks coming our way from ultra-high frequency 5G technology (on which there has been no pre-market health testing), you will want to support this field of activism. It will become clearer and clearer to you why I do this work.
The National Institute for Science, Law & Public Policy has several important white papers in process now that need significant fuel behind them. Parallel educational initiatives are underway among physicians, the media, and at the federal level, where a sustained legal effort will ultimately be necessary.
Today, we are in an unusual time of truth telling—and I can assure you that a lot more truth needs to be told about wireless risks! We need your help to do this.
Please share ManhattanNeighbors.org with your colleagues and friends. ‘Like’ us on Facebook. Introduce us to foundations and philanthropists so our voices can grow louder. Give us a boost in any ways possible.
And please, consider making a generous donation today to the 501-c-3 National Institute for Science, Law & Public Policy here to support our educational and advocacy work and the launch of Manhattan Neighbors for Safer Telecommunications. Every donation helps us have greater impact. Know also that for me personally having your support, no matter what the amount, helps me maintain the resolve and courage each day to face this societal problem with renewed conviction.
We aim to align the world we live in today with our commonly held values for health and a chance at a decent life for all people free of hazardous environmental pollution. I hope you will join us.
Very gratefully yours,
