1) This YouTube, made in Truckee, California, shows several types of electrical meters, analog plus non and “$$mart meters, that are all being used in the same small area. There is also a video of what is supposedly a “safer” smeter which is not part of a mesh grid, thus reducing the number of collectors and the radiation. Without a lot of research, it is hard to know if these really are much better than the ITRON for example. One concern would be that it uses a lower frequency, 460 Mhz instead of the 900Mhz Itron uses. Lower frequencies go farther and penetrate things better, including our bodies.
Truckee, California (near Lake Tahoe) is unique in that its utility company (Truckee Donner PUD) uses all three types of electrical meter systems: Analog, AMR and AMI (“smart” meters). 2) Smeters being installed in the UK are made in China, raising major concerns about cybersecurity. I have been told, but I cannot confirm, that most components of $$meters used in North America are made in China with only the “face plate” made in the USA.

4) In California, residents are fighting siting of cell towers, with some concerned about worker safety and others about bees and agriculture. More people are becoming aware of the dangers from microwave radiation!
“Bowles stated that people are not the only ones impacted by radiation from the cell towers. He said it was important to protect neighborhoods zoned as agricultural (A70) from strong cell tower emissions because of bees that are located in the area.
“There is a good reason that agricultural zone are non-preferred for cell towers. We trust the bees to pollinate our fruit trees,” said Bowles. “Bees’ sensitive navigation systems become confused in the presence of strong cell tower emissions. They are unable to find their way back to the hive and eventually die. We need our bees to pollinate our orchards and we should insist that the cell providers respect our agricultural zoning requirements.”

5) A group in Oklahoma is raising concerns about their utility deceiving them about the potential of smeters to collect personal data.
“In the fall of 2015 Assistant Attorney General Jerry Sanger said the he understood the “Utilities have the potential to profit MORE from the customer data sold than the consumption of electricity” (Forbes and Politico). The Oklahoma Corporation Commission was to promulgate rules more than five years ago to protect our privacy.”

If an action like this was successful it would spawn many more, including ‘Smart’ meters.
I believe Maple Ridge City Council could be vulnerable to charges of ‘willful blindness’ in similar actions. In spite of the fact that the Provincial Health Office claims there is ‘no convincing evidence’ of harm… a great deal of evidence indicating the opposite has been delivered to you.

Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Radiation and the Health of Canadians
Dear Ms. Philpott,
We like to express our deepest disappointment, for the lack of scientific understanding by the Liberal Government, regarding the negative biological effects of radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation.
We, like many voters across Canada, looked forward to your government implementing an ‘independent science base approach’ unlike your Conservative predecessors.
Have you personally taken the time to inform yourself just how profound life is interfered with by electromagnetic radiation radiofrequency, on a cellular level?
Since you are fairly new to your current ministerial position, you might not be aware how irresponsibly Health Canada cherry picks their research, while ignoring thousands of studies and stern warnings by highly respected researchers from the international science/medical community.
CCanada is NOT on the leading edge of research, as Health Canada is boasting, nor does Safety Code 6 provide any protection to life.
Many other countries have conducted human, animal and plant research and reported ADVERSE REACTIONS to non-ionizing radiofrequency radiation exposure!
In Canada, on the other hand, scientists experiment with a Hollow Plastic Head which provides no biological response whatsoever! This synthetic individual is called S.A.M. (Simulated Anthropomorphic Man).
Do you or any member of your family, in any way, identify biologically with this ridiculous plastic man?
Are you aware that Canada is receiving billions of dollars from the wireless industry, through taxes and the auction of air waves?
Sadly, this much money into the government coffers creates strong financial ties, and undue influence by large corporations, and creates little incentive by government to put the health and well being of Canadians first.
Nobody in government wants to stop the corporate ‘Gravy Train.’
My wife has become a victim of Health Canada’s inactions, and for the last 8 years has to live with debilitating electro hyper-sensitivity (EHS).
Her former productive and social life has been shattered into a million pieces!
EHS results in terrible social isolation! It also diminishes the ability to work in any office environment or public places since cell tower, smart meter and WiFi pulsed radiation is present everywhere, even violating the sanctity of our own home
Man-made pulsed radiation is not present in any natural form and is the trigger for cellular and neurological degradation for man, animals and plants.
Please take some time and educate yourself so that you may gain greater understanding, without influence of vested corporate interests, just how perversely pulsed non-ionizing radiation affects all life.

How much more evidence do we need when School Officials, Health Officers and Government Officials are unable to provide parents with ONE STUDY that says microwave radiation exposure is safe for children and the unborn?
May I remind you, Ms. Philpott, that Health Canada failed the public most miserably in the not too distant past before.
DDT, Formaldehyde, PCB’s, Asbestos and a host of other bio toxins were once considered ‘modern’ and ‘progressive, while corporations received Canadian Government subsidies and, in the process, polluted homes, workplaces and the environment with disastrous consequences to man and the environment.
Does this organization deserve your unreserved trust, in light of so much failure in keeping the public safe?
Please be so kind and spare us the misery of a manufactured response by Health Canada, as they have proven their incompetence to us time and time again.
A genuine response from your office, however, is appreciated.
