2) A report in The Journal of Veterinary Science and Medical Diagnosis about effects of dirty electricity on cattle and milk production, and dirty electricity from $$meters.
“From 2011 to 2013, I have been checking on the extraneous electricity on the John and Carol Szymanski farm near Argyle, MI, at his request, and have found that current supplied by Thumb Electric Cooperative, Inc, Ubly, MI, is regularly distorted and supplied “dirty electricity” to the farm and to the home.
During my first call from Mr. Szymanski, he reported that milk per cow per day had decreased from 71.7 to 52.4 pounds per day at 150-day per DHIA test-day average, and cow numbers had decreased from 220 cows to 177 cows, with 67% of cows producing less than 40 pounds per day.”
3) Google and schools are using cell phones for children to experience “virtual reality”. Experts are warning that this is extremely dangerous and should not be allowed. Below is a letter from a member to Prime Minister Trudeau about this issue.

4) I encourage you to read the submission (first 9 pages only, a fast read) from someone who is sensitive arguing against fees being proposed to keep an analog in North Carolina. Note – another state where people are allowed to keep this safe, dependable meter. Odd how BC Hydro says analogs aren’t available.

Dear Prime Minister Trudeau,
As a Director of Children’s Health and Safety for the Citizens for Safe Technology Society (CST), I represent parents, teachers and students who are seriously concerned about the recent endorsement of the wireless virtual reality system called “The Global Expeditions Pioneer Program.” You may not be aware that the World Health Organization (WHO) has classified radiofrequency electromagnetic fields, as “possibly carcinogenic to humans” (Group 2B). Our children’s health is at risk in our schools when they are forced to suffer prolonged chronic exposure to low levels of microwave radio frequency radiation from wireless devices.
The Google’s Expeditions Pioneer Program provides a free kit, which includes ASUS smartphones, and wireless tablet for the teacher to act as the tour director, a wireless Internet router and Google Cardboard headsets. Concerned scientists explain that cell phones are a two-way microwave radiation transceiver, which should never be used directly in front of a child’s eyes and brain. Professor Om Gandhi from the University of Utah, who is one of the original developers of testing wireless radiation from cellphones, has stated “We have never tested microwave radiating devices directly in front of the young developing eye. The absence of proof of harm at this point does not mean that we have evidence of safety.”
The health and safety information provided with the kit includes a list of warnings to the user when using this product. The risks identified include severe dizziness, seizures, epileptic seizures and other conditions of epilepsy. blackouts triggered by light flasher or patterns, and loss of awareness.
Further, the product warnings go on to say that this product should not be used when tired, needing sleep, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, are hung-over, have digestive problems, under emotional stress or anxiety, or when suffering from cold, flu, headaches, migraines, or headaches, as this can increase your susceptibility to adverse symptoms.
It is of great importance to note the following warning, ” This product should not be used by children under the age of 13 as these children may be at increased health and safety risk. Adults should monitor children (age 13 and older) who are using or have used the Headset for any of the symptoms described above.”
In January 2015, MP Terence Young announced a multi-party support for his Private member’s Bill C-648 requiring manufacturers of wireless devices to place health warnings labels on the outside of the packaging. Parents, teachers and students shouldn’t have to look for the buried warnings and disclaimers of the health hazards to their children before this technology is distributed throughout our schools.
According to a report delivered June 2015, by the House of Commons Standing Committee on Health (HESA) the microwave radiation from wireless devices is now a “serious public health issue”. The Canadian Parliamentary Committee discussed possible links between RF exposure and cancer, reproductive issues and autism. Concerns were raised about RF exposure in schools due to use of Wi-Fi; the need for RF exposure limits to protect vulnerable populations such as pregnant women, infants and children, and persons with electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS)
We are confounded as to why Health Canada has disregarded or minimized certain recent studies, such as links to cancer promotion, DNA damage, protein synthesis, stress response, and detrimental biological health effects in humans that occur at radiation levels far below the existing Safety Code 6 Guideline. During the hearings four international experts testified that Health Canada is “either unwilling or not competent” to judge current scientific evidence that wireless radiation is harmful to our health. Health Canada is not protecting the public.

The International EMF Scientist Appeal, signed by over 200 EMF research scientists, university professors and medical doctors from 40 countries, called upon the United Nations, the WHO, and the UN Member States to address the emerging public health crisis caused by indiscriminate use of microwave radiation emitting devices without safety precuations. Concerned scientists state that the enactment of the precautionary principle is past due, as a start to protect the general public, specifically children and the unborn.
“The Precautionary Principle states when there are indications of possible adverse effects, even just single cases, though they remain uncertain, the risks from doing nothing may be far greater than the risks of taking action to control these exposures.” This is a time when we call upon you in your role of Prime Minister, to take the prudent and wise step to protect children without delay, as it will be impossible to turn the clock back and unwind the damage caused in the days to come.
Given there is a serious health risk to our children we are calling on you as the Prime Minister and as a parent with three school age children to implement the precautionary principle and have this free product removed from our schools.

Having received, by post mail today, the February 9, 2016 letter informing us that yet again our (“legacy”) mechanical analogue electricity meter must be replaced, we are writing to:
1) state unequivocally that we will not accept anything but another mechanical analogue meter to replace our mechanical analogue electricity meter;
2) request an appointment at a mutually convenient time, or at a minimum a phone call the day before the meter is to be exchanged.
We have, since the original “meter choices Opt out” program was announced, communicated the above intentions, and our 29 year old original mechanical meter was replaced August 6, 2014 with a mechanical meter, in accordance with both 1 & 2 above. What a waste of personnel time and wages to install a meter which would only need to now be replaced again within 18 months. We have paid all required “Legacy Meter” fees on time, though under duress.
In addition to our concerns about health effects and fire safety of “smart meters”, we both suffer from complex medical conditions which are greatly exacerbated by “dirty electricity”/electromagnetic interference, which any meter with a digital read-out panel will generate. Avoidance of this factor is paramount to preventing health deterioration. We have spent considerable funds to mitigate dirty electricity within our home. Adding any meter with such a dirty electricity-generating panel, whether a digital read-out mechanical meter or a “radio-off smart meter” will undermine these efforts to protect our health and lives. Any rationale declared by BC Hydro that all meters must be of the communicating variety in order for the electricity grid to operate is complete fiction, as evidenced by the many locales throughout North America that are either outright turning away from deploying smart meters or offering “opt-out” programs which utilize mechanical analogue meters.
We hear from many people in BC that mechanical analogue electricity meters have been installed recently in meter exchanges throughout the province. We request this same level of service: no more and no less. We know that the city of New Westminster’s electrical utility uses mechanical analogue meters. If Hydro is unable to provide such a meter, it could acquire one from New Westminster. We do not accept any “rationale” that these meters are no longer available.
As members of the putative class action lawsuit versus BC Hydro regarding “Smart Meters” we ask that you continue with our established precedent in service. We ask that you acknowledge that we have never accepted any change in the contract we originally had with BC Hydro to supply electricity and which attributed costs of meter reading to the utility.
We again ask that a definite appointment time be made, at a mutually agreeable time, to replace our mechanical analogue meter with a new mechanical analogue meter as these do not produce dirty electricity. We also ask that when we are contacted to schedule this appointment, we be informed at that time as to the model type, name and serial number and certification period for the replacement meter. This is not an unreasonable request. It might be a good idea to install a meter with a longer certification period than 18 months. Otherwise, what you are doing feels like harassment, and certainly amounts to poor business efficiency practices. As Measurement Canada stipulates that electricity meters are not to be swapped out “under load”, we need to be home to ensure the electricity is off at our electricity panel, especially in light of the fact that the technicians contracted to do this task are, for the most part, not fully qualified electricians (as is also a Measurement Canada stipulation for exchange of meters).

Dear Mr. Sanders,
We are in receipt of your letter dated February 9, 2016 informing us of an upcoming meter exchange due to expiry of Measurement Canada certification. It is unfortunate that we have to go through this again since our analog meter was replaced less than 2 years ago — June 4, 2014. To our knowledge, the original meter never needed to be replaced in the 33 years since we built the house. It must have been re-certified regularly. At the time of replacement we were happy to receive another analog meter, though the encounter with the Corix employee was less than satisfactory.
Once again we will gladly receive replacement with another analog meter. Though your letter states that “BCHydro no longer has a stock of legacy meters”, we have heard that many times before, so are unsure about that statement. We know of someone who received a replacement analog meter just last week and was treated very respectfully by the installer. We repeat that we DO NOT WANT A SMART METER OR A RADIO-OFF METER, nor any digital meter placed on our home for the same reasons we have always stated. There is even more evidence of fires (have seen videotapings where it was obvious the fire was in the meter, also read statements admitting they can cause fires) and health effects from low level, pulsed, non-thermal microwave radiation (not covered by Safety Code 6) which they emit. We have my 99 year-old mother living with us and her bed/bedroom is on the other side of where the meter is located. Also, we must mention again that installation on our private property is against our right to “life, liberty, and security” under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. We believe we have a right to a meter that we consider safe and know that analog meters are still available in North America and are being used in other jurisdictions.
We therefore must have the following for the meter exchange:
1) We will accept only an analog meter and not a digital one. We are paying the legacy fees as required to participate in the Meter Choices Program.
2) We require an appointment so that we can be home for the meter exchange. We often look after our daughter’s dog and cannot ensure that he is not in the yard if we do not know when the installer is coming.
3) We must have the power shut off in our home before the exchange in order to prevent damage to our appliances or to our home. We know damage has been done due to the power not being shut off. Hence, we need an appointment so that we can be home to turn the power off.
4) The exchange must be done by a fully qualified employee and not by a Corix person, due to possible damage being done to our appliances and/or home.
When these 4 conditions are met, we will gladly make sure we are home and that our meter is accessible when the installer comes to make the exchange. We hope that the analog we receive will be certified for more than 2 years.
We will be calling you tomorrow (Monday, February 15) to re-state our needs and get a time for an appointment.
We will also be sending a hard copy of this letter to BC Hydro and will be requesting the address from you as there is no address on the letter we received.
Thank you for your consideration and we hope we can soon put our worries about this behind us for another 3-4 years.
