We need to put pressure on our provincial health authorities to help protect us and our families from the RF proliferation and to stop misleading us by saying that everything is fine.
2) International Criminal Court of the Environment and Health
Please consider signing and circulating. This is an important petition, long overdue, aimed at holding corporations, such as BC Hydro, accountable for ruining the health of our environment:

On January 30th 2014, a coalition of organizations has gathered at the European Parliament to launch the “Charter of Brussels”

The Charter calls for the recognition of environmental crimes as crimes against Humanity and Peace by the United Nations.
The Charter suggests a progressive approach in 3 steps:
1 * Supporting a moral tribunal to raise public awareness and enable civil society to judge responsibility for crimes against nature
2 * The creation of a European Criminal Court of the Environment and Health
3 * The creation of an International Criminal Court of the Environment and Health
The Charter is now open for signatures by individuals and organizations <http://iecc-tpie.org/partner.php?lang=en> and will be handed over to Ban Ki-Moon, UN Secretary-General, during the General Assembly of the United Nations in September, as well as to the President of the European Commission, and the President of the European Council.
Let’s join our forces by signing the Brussels Charter and show our political leaders that the public demands a Court to ensure environmental justice!

4) Power Outages in Ashcroft BC
A note from a member
We just had a power outage in Ashcroft on Sunday. The entire town was without power. I phoned Hydro to find out when the power might be restored (as we are in a heat wave and afternoon temps are up to 41).
Hydro said they didn’t even know there was a power outage. Why are they saying smart meters will be helpful in notifying them during a power outage, yet 5-10 minutes into a power outage my phone call was apparently the first they had heard of it?

Purely by coincidence, I got an anonymous call from a Hydro insider tonight who told me that the outage capability is not working and won’t be working for a long time.

BC Health Authority misleading the public, hiding behind an outdated guideline.
For years many of us have been arguing that strong evidence exists, proving that prolonged exposure to microwave/radio-frequency radiation from wireless devices, such as cell and FM transmitters, cell phones, smart meters, WiFi modems is dangerous. But our federal and provincial health authorities have justified allowing the uncontrolled proliferation of these devices to continue because of Safety Code 6.
Health Canada has been shown time and again to fail at being proactive in protecting the Canadian public. As recent as last year, this agency showed its bias toward industry by appointing a panel of “scientists” to review recent research to determine if there were health effects below Safety Code 6. The process was flawed, with several scientists chosen having close and long term ties with the industry. Some, but not all, were forced to resign and were replaced by people with credentials that were not relevant to the field.
But even more blatant was the fact that the studies being reviewed were cherry-picked, with many peer-reviewed studies done within the last 5 years that showed not only harmful biological and health effects but also the mechanisms by which the harm is done being ignored.
This document identifies 139 such studies, most of which had been submitted to Health Canada prior to the review, and all of which were available at the time of the review.

Health Canada has a long history of ignoring science for the benefit of corporations, e.g. tobacco, asbestos, mercury, lead, and, yes, microwave radiation.
In the past people suffered from choosing to use these dangerous products, but it is different now.
We are not given the choice to be irradiated. We all are being irradiated 24/7 365 days a year.
WiFi is in schools, smart meters are on homes, cell transmitters are along our streets on poles outside bedrooms. Children are exposed before birth and will suffer the consequences throughout their lives. The public is not given the information about these dangers, with false and incorrect information being put on provincial websites including those for the BC Centre for Disease Control, the BC Cancer Centre, and BC Health Authority/Ministry of Health.
A prime example of the misinformation available on the BC Ministry’s Health website refers to cell phones:

“Given the current scientific evidence, the consensus of public health practitioners is that at current exposure levels these electromagnetic fields do not constitute a threat to the health of the public.”
“Q – How do wi-fi exposures compare with cell phone exposures?
A – Wi-fi exposures are a small fraction (less than 1%) of radiation received during typical cell phone use. There is no convincing evidence that wi-fi exposures constitute a threat to the health of B.C. residents”
This is outrageous. The public is being lulled into believing that the wireless gadgets they love and that they give their toddlers are safe. This is wrong – both in fact and morally.
It is time for the provincial government to take responsibility for stopping this exposure. It has the duty to protect our health and it has the right to establish exposure limits that are precautionary.
I ask our elected officials to review this information and join together to demand that correct information be given to the public. Demand that our health authorities do their jobs, tell the truth, and stop misleading the public.
