2) This multi-year study, the Oxford million women study, that purported to review health risks associated with “usual conditions” has come under heavy criticism by many experts. The conditions may have been normal when the study began (1996) but they aren’t now. The conclusion that because cell phone use of 20 min. a week results in no increase in brain cancer it can be said that there is no association between cell phones and brain cancer is ridiculous if not dangerous. Keep this handy because we know industry will use this study to sell their products as being safe. We can’t let them get away with it.
Journal of the National Cancer Institute Publishes Expert Letter Questioning Report of No Brain Cancer from Cell Phones
“The Journal of the National Cancer Institute has published a letter from distinguished experts disputing the Oxford million women study claiming no link between cell phone use and brain cancer. The new letter lays out why the Oxford report was deeply flawed. Noting that substantial credible research links cell phone radiofrequency radiation to cancer, the authors conclude that “state of the art studies signal the need for the public to reduce exposures to radiofrequency radiation now.”

4) Below in Letters is a portion of an email Cece Doucette sent to members of a US group that was discussing various problems with removing Wi-Fi from modems and routers. There is a lot of useful information in it.
Letters:
…. we had Comcast Xfinity. During installation they turned off the 2.4 and 5 GHz antennas, the 2.4 and 5GHz hotspots, but something was still transmitting. The installer couldn’t figure it out, nor could his help desk, nor his supervisor who came the next day.
A friend in Silicon Valley indicated it was a home security antenna. All five antennas were turned on as the default whether we use those services or not.
The front line tech support folks are not trained to address this, so folks need to request a “level two” tech support person which would get you to an engineer who could disable it from their end.
As X notes, I didn’t want to risk the antennas coming back on during updates, so we bought our own Netgear non-wireless router, and the Comcast guys were good enough to install it for us as a show of good faith.

My latest challenge was to disable the RF on the new stove my husband bought. Thankfully, when the technician came to my home he discovered it was as simple as taking off the back panel and disconnecting the antenna board from the mother board. Here’s a little 4-minute video I did beforehand:

In our area, we are seeing a number of “free-cycle” types of groups forming, where people want to give their old stuff away instead of tossing it in the landfill. That might be something to look into if you’re ever wanting to find retro electronics, perhaps you could post an “ask”.
Lastly, I just wanted folks to know I’m now partnering with New Hampshire for Safe Technology to help educate citizens on EMFs. Once they get their minds around this issue, it is our hope they will reach out to their legislators and empower them to pass laws to educate the public and get to RF exposures as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA). We hope citizens will invite their loved ones, schools, colleagues, town leaders, etc., to come learn too.
As we’ve seen, all politics is local so I’m focusing my energy on growing an educated grassroots base at present. I am so grateful for your collective EMF work to share with others.
We’re doing two free education sessions each month, and although our initial target is NH, everyone (domestic, international) is welcome to come get a basic introduction to wireless risks and superior technology solutions.
