2) “FTTH EXPECTED TO COVER 200 MILLION E.U. HOMES BY 2026”

That’s the headline on an industry article. FTTH means FIBRE-TO-THE-HOME (or TO-THE-BUILDING). This article is about modern wireline (not wireless) connections in the European Union + UK. Maybe the statistics and discussion are a promising sign? Surely at least their forecast for 2021 must be reasonably accurate, since we’re already well past halfway in 2021. I suppose these two short paragraphs, near the end of the article, are skewed in favour of promoters of fibre, but that doesn’t mean I can’t like these sentences. The “However” sentence is packed full of great wording!
“The FTTH Council Europe believes that rural areas should benefit from the same services as urban areas and therefore public funds should help bridging this digital divide where private financing is not possible due to the lack of business case,” said Eric Festraets, President of the FTTH Council Europe.
“However to make the most use of public money, only full-fibre projects should qualify for funding as it is the most future-proof and environmentally friendly infrastructure,” Festraets said, unsurprisingly“.”

3) “81 ORGANIZATIONS URGE PENNSYLVANIA SUPREME COURT TO REJECT SMART METERS MANDATE”
This is the first paragraph of yesterday’s post by Dafna Tachover:
“Eighty safe-tech and environmental organizations joined the amicus brief filed by Children’s Health Defense (CHD) on Wednesday, in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The brief was filed in a case challenging the PA Public Utility Commission’s (PaPUC) interpretation of a 2008 law, Act 129, to mandate smart meters and deny disability accommodation to those who are adversely affected by pulsed radio frequency (RF) radiation emitted by wireless devices, including smart meters.”
Dafna’s post contains many novel and interesting aspects, not only aspects we already know well. While reading it, keep an eye out for the links embedded in the post as they are a bit difficult to notice.

Please do not attack the reporter. Even though I was fuming about the details in the article, I noticed that the reporter is skeptical, as if thinking some of the company’s claims could not possibly be true. And if the claims are not true, perhaps this is another blatant example that could be brought to light to show how government agencies are not even knowledgeable enough in their own supposed specialties to properly evaluate and give authorized approvals.]
