2021-09-11 Important tips for making your home safer

1) Less than 10 days until the election, but still time to try to get MPs elected who are supportive of reducing EMF in our environment and helping to protect the health of Canadians.

A simple ask of those running — if they will support implementation of the 2015 HESA recommendations which had full support of the panel which was comprised of members from all the parties.

Sample templates for candidates of each major party are shown below in Letters. I hope you will take just a few minutes to send these to candidates in your area who have yet to pledge their support. Before sending out, first check to see if the Candidate’s name is already listed on the C4ST website (will be posted on Monday, September 13th).

2) Oram Miller is a well-known and very well-respected building biologist who helps make homes safer. In this article, he advises about TVs, Rokus, and other devices that are used within the home by many of us.

TVS AND EMFS

“Since the delivery method of TV content into your home from all of these companies is relatively free of radio frequency EMFs, whether from cable, telephone or a satellite dish company, where do EMFs in your TV set and home entertainment center equipment come from? The answer is, from the ways in which you convey the signal from one room to another within your home from new equipment that uses wireless, rather than a hardwired cable, as the method of sending the TV signal from one location to another. There will be a central point to which the low voltage TV signal comes from outside the house, and from there, it can be distributed to TVs around the house in two ways, just like data on the Internet can. That is, in either a hardwired or a wireless way, or both.”

3) Experts are warning that the power grid is very vulnerable and is becoming more so with more wireless devices (such as smeters) which can be used as entry points. And as cars have more wireless components, they too are becoming more vulnerable to hackers who could cause mechanical problems resulting in inconvenience or even accidents.

The Major Problem With EVs No One Is Talking About

“Last year, researchers from the Southwest Research Institute in Texas successfully hacked the most popular charging system used in North America. The hack limited the charging rate, then blocked charging, and then overcharged the battery. The reason for the hack:

“This was an initiative designed to identify potential threats in common charging hardware as we prepare for widespread adoption of electric vehicles in the coming decade,” according to lead researcher Austin Dodson.

Mission accomplished.

Earlier this month, UK cybersecurity firm Pen Test Partners said that it had found cyber vulnerabilities in six home EV chargers and a large public charging network.”

ATTENTION:
Canadian voters who want to elect Members of Parliament in this election who really do care about our health and exposures to wireless radiation (such as from cell phones and cell towers).

Below is an example of a message you can customize to match your Conservative Party of Canada candidate and the riding before you send it. Before you do that, first check to see if the Candidate’s name is already listed on the C4ST website (will be posted on Monday, September 13th) https://c4st.org/candidateswhocare/

Hello Conservative Party Candidate [substitute name of the candidate here]

I am writing about an important issue that will affect how I vote in the upcoming federal election on September 20th.

I hope that you have had the opportunity to read the email letter from Frank Clegg of CanadiansFor Safe Technology about becoming one of the Candidates Who Care About Canadians’ Health.

This letter can be found at: https://c4st.org/candidateswhocare/  where you will see above the red button/bar a clickable text line “Letter to Candidates for Election to the 44th Canadian Parliament.

In the letter is a request for you to sign-on, joining John Brassard (Barrie-Innisfil) in support of the full implementation of the recommendations in the 2015 HESA Report Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Radiation and the Health of Canadians.

HESA is the House of Commons Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health, and its members are all Members of Parliament. Those members unanimously passed the 2015 HESA report.

A quote from that report:

The potential risks of exposure to RF (radiofrequency) fields are a serious public health issue that needs to be brought to the attention of Canadians.

For more information, to see the letter, and to sign-on, please visit: https://c4st.org/candidateswhocare/

You may also signon by emailing Frank Clegg, CEO of volunteer organization Canadians For Safe Technology (C4ST) frank@c4st.org providing your name and your permission to post your name along with your riding name and Party on the Candidates Who Care About Canadians’ Healthwebpage.

I would be glad to discuss this issue further. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

[You can Include the following note in the message, below your signature:] Note: The Conservative Party of Canada support for the HESA Report:

The Conservative Party of Canada was instrumental in bringing this issue to Parliament.  In the spring of 2015, Conservative MP Terence Young gained the support of his Conservative counterparts of HESA to investigate Safety Code 6.  Working with Liberal Health critic Dr. Hedy Fry, a motion was presented and approved by the Health Committee to set aside three meetings of the committee to hear evidence from Canadian and International experts. The report was presented to Parliament by Conservative HESA Chair MP Ben Lobb in June 2015. As a note, this is a follow on to the December 2010 HESA Report presented by HESA Chair, Conservative MP Joy Smith.

[You can Include the following note in the message, below your signature:] Extract from the Liberal Party of Canada Statement in 2015:

It was the Liberal Party of Canada that took the lead on bringing the issue of wireless technology safety to the House of Commons Health Committee. Liberal Party Health Critic, Dr. Hedy Fry, put forward the successful motion on March 5, 2015 requesting the Health Committee undertake a comprehensive study of Health Canada’s Safety Code 6 on human exposure to electromagnetic energy.

In line with the Health Committee’s report, the Liberal Party of Canada supports the need for an awareness campaign focused on the safe use of wireless technologies; independent scientific examination of existing measures in place in other jurisdictions; ensuring better data collection regarding electromagnetic hypersensitivity, including in the workplace; and establishing a system to support the collection of reports of adverse reactions to radiofrequency wireless devices.

[You can Include the following note in the message, below your signature:] Extract from the NDP 2015 Statement:

The New Democratic Party firmly supported the motion requesting that House of Commons Standing Committee on Health (HESA) examine the issues of radiofrequency, electromagnetic radiation and the Health of Canadians. In June of 2015, our Health critic, Mr. Murray Rankin, presided as vice-chair over these committee sessions.  Following  a  study  of  Health  Canada  Safety  Code  6,  the  guideline  that  establishes  safety  limits  for human exposure to radiofrequency fields for all individuals working at, or visiting, federally regulated sites, New Democratic members of the Standing Committee on Health, together with members from other parties, adopted twelve recommendations in their report to Parliament.

The adoption of the recommendations produced by the committee demonstrates how New Democrats are committed to protecting the health of Canadians and ensuring that new technology is used safely in  our  everyday  lives.  We  will  remain  steadfast  in  our  commitment  towards  Canadians  that  their concerns regarding wireless technology will be addressed and that proper health safeguards will be implemented in line with these health committee recommendations.
