2021-04-13 EMF exposure at low levels–> oxidative stress

1) A new paper, which is available to the public (see the second link below), provides confirmation that evidence shows that EMF exposure, even at levels far below Safety Code 6, can cause oxidative stress (OS). In the report itself, several studies show exposure to levels far below SAR 1.6W/kg can result in OS. Yet Health Canada and ISED are unconcerned about cell phones with RF levels up to 62.5 times the allowed level.

Major Review on Oxidative Stress Published in International Journal of Molecular Sciences

“A newly published review “Manmade Electromagnetic Fields and Oxidative Stress—Biological Effects and Consequences for Health” published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences by David Schuermann and Meike Mevissen funded by the Switzerland, Federal Institute of the Environment and University of Bern states there “is consistent evidence for EMF-induced ROS formation in experimental studies””

Manmade Electromagnetic Fields and Oxidative Stress—Biological Effects and Consequences for Health

“In summary, indications for increased oxidative stress caused by RF-EMF and ELF-MF were reported in the majority of the animal studies and in more than half of the cell studies. Investigations in Wistar and Sprague-Dawley rats provided consistent evidence for oxidative stress occurring after RF-EMF exposure in the brain and testes and some indication of oxidative stress in the heart. Observations in Sprague-Dawley rats also seem to provide consistent evidence for oxidative stress in the liver and kidneys. In mice, oxidative stress induced by RF-EMF was predominantly demonstrated in the brain and testes, as well as in liver, kidneys, and ovaries. These observations were made with a variety of cell types, exposure times, and dosages (SAR or field strengths), within the range of the regulatory limits and recommendations….

Wednesday, April 14th – 6:30 pm Winnipeg Time 7:30 ET., 4:30 PT
Canadians for Safe Technology (C4ST)
Community Actions Zoom Meeting. All welcome.

TOPIC: “Demystifying Safety Code 6”.

3) Smeters are going through evolution, with new generations replacing older ones. The newer ones are said to have greater ability to communicate with the IoT and 5G grid. A member kindly sent me a photo of a smeter recently installed and it is the older model — the ITRON Centron Openway.

Wednesday, April 14th – 6:30 pm Winnipeg Time 7:30 ET 4:30 PT
Canadians for Safe Technology (C4ST)
Community Actions Zoom Meeting.  All welcome.

TOPIC: “Demystifying Safety Code 6”.

All roads to making Canadians safer from exposures to wireless radiation, such as from cell tower antennas, cell phones and 5G lead to a proper revision of Safety Code 6.

Health Canada’s Safety Code 6 guidelines have been adopted by the federal department that regulates cell tower and small network antenna, cell phones and other radiofrequency emitting devices commercially available in Canada. In addition other jurisdictions e.g. school boards and provinces have adopted these guidelines as their “standards” even though they can set their own safer limits.

C4ST’s Marg Friesen and Frank Clegg will go over the main points of Safety Code 6 in terms a layperson can understand and they will lead a discussion on why it is outdated and not protective of Canadian’s health. Meeting is open to all.

“The purpose of this code is to establish safety limits for human exposure to radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic energy in the frequency range from 3 kHz to 300 GHz.”
