1) I must have missed the news about the Space X application that was just approved by CRTC because this is the first I recall hearing about this. There were 2,585 interventions, “mostly positive” from people in rural areas who want to have internet access. I wonder if there is any way to submit comments to ISED — you’d think there would be some other agency involved with this. Perhaps a good question to ask of your MP. There are satellites in the skies over the southern areas (at least) of Canada already, so why more? This is a nightmare.
Elon Musk’s satellite internet plan gets green light from Canadian regulator
“The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission has approved an Elon Musk-owned company’s application to provide low Earth orbit satellite internet to rural Canadians.
One of the company’s projects is to bring high-speed internet service to hard-to-reach rural areas around the globe by launching thousands of small satellites that will orbit just 550 kilometres above the Earth, vastly speeding interaction with residential computers on the ground.
Traditional telecommunications satellites orbit at more that 20,000 km above the Earth…
SpaceX has said it will begin beta tests on the service with volunteer households in Canada and northern areas of the United States this fall.”
2) The EH Trust is inviting us to listen to a press conference next week when they will be releasing brand new information about Telecom influence in US agencies, like the FCC. This lawsuit is major, the success of which could help us in our battle with Health Canada and ISED. I hope you will consider making a donation to help their efforts.
Press Conference Scheduled on Unprecedented Challenge to FCC in Landmark Case on 5G, Wireless, and Cell Phone Tower Microwave Radiation
“WASHINGTON, DC, October 21, 2020—Environmental Health Trust (EHT), a leading scientific think tank, has submitted a landmark brief to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia opposing the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) 24-year old wireless exposure limits to cell phones, towers, antennas, and other microwave-transmitting devices.
EHT will hold an historic press conference on Wednesday, October 28 at 1:00 p.m. ET to present new, never-released information on industry influence in US agencies. EHT will present details of its latest response brief confirming the deceptive tactics of the FCC…
“During the pandemic, when our children are becoming increasingly dependent on wireless devices, they should be protected from harm using the latest science. They are not. Our historic lawsuit against the FCC exposes its irresponsible reliance on outdated science to maintain insufficient safety standards for this ever-more prevalent technology,” stated Devra Davis, President of Environmental Health Trust….
…“Obstinacy and willful blindness are not reasoned decision-making. Ignoring facts does not change them. Talismanic repetition does not transmute a false assumption into reality. The ‘picture,’ ‘consensus,’ ‘majority opinion,’ and ‘weight of the evidence’ have all changed since 1997. Current regulations are built on an incomplete assessment of the risks posed by RF/EMF. The evidence is compelling.”

3) A member recommended this Macleans article from February as a “5G for Dummies” that could be sent to Premiers, Prime Ministers, Health Officers, MPs, MLAs, etc.
Threats to security, health, public infrastructure—and other potential costs of Canada’s 5G rollout
“Marketing 5G as revolutionary, however, is a curious strategy. From Edmund Burke’s Reflections on the Revolution in France published in 1790 to more recent research in political science, it has been shown that revolutions can be costly—and they often leave the public worse off than they were before. Today, there is good reason to believe that the imminent 5G technology may come at a considerable cost to our security, environment, health and right over how public land is used. Understanding these potential costs is important. It will help the public develop a more nuanced view of 5G and it will assist policymakers in ensuring that the right measures are put in place.”
The article has a lot of very interesting links, for example re. Huawei, and what could happen to our network. Has all of the Huawei equipment been removed from the telecoms’ devices and transmitters?
Given the vulnerability of any wireless grid, Huawei is not the only “actor” who could damage our services and security.
What’s the worst China could do with access to Canada’s 5G network?
“In a worst-case scenario, where international relations devolved further while China held the technological keys to disrupt Canada’s 5G network, “we’ll be dealing with a state-sponsored situation where someone can turn off the lights in the middle of winter. Turn off the power. Turn off the subway. Turn off everyone’s cell phone,” Tobok says. “It’s scary.”…
The auto industry would also be at risk, especially with 5G powering the future of self-driving cars, explains Arthur Herman, a senior fellow at the Washington D.C.-based Hudson* Institute. “Your autonomous vehicle-makers and artificial intelligence software that power them involve an enormous amount of intellectual property—especially in the early stages of development,” he says. “If you have the means, through Huawei’s control of 5G of that intellectual property flowing to somebody else—flowing to China—for use in its development in its technologies, that’s a big problem.” The Chinese government would be able to watch patterns of autonomous vehicles to track, say, government officials, or the supply chain of the military.
This would lead to the second major concern of Chinese influence with its control over technologies connected to 5G networks in Canada: interrupting critical infrastructure services.”
4) The announcement was included in the 2020-10-20 Update (1) – https://stopsmartmetersbc.com/2020-10-20-wifi-on-the-moon/). Postponement allows us time to find out if there is a plan to allow us access. The film is now due for release on Nov. 12.
