2) Surveillance and gathering of personal data is a justification of and an explanation for 5G technology. Fiber optic cable (FOC), which is the most efficient, fastest and safest way of transmitting data, has become a critical backbone for 5G, and new technology (DAS) is capable of turning FOC that is already in place into a surveillance tool. If communities owned and controlled fiber optic networks, benefits could be realized without this insidious invasion of our privacy and security.
