It’s rare that every speaker in a scientific conference receives a standing ovation, but that’s what happened last Sept 6-8 at, in Santa Cruz (CA), at EMFC 2019, the first US conference focusing on diagnosing and treating the health effects of electromagnetic fields. Most of its participants were Medical Doctors and other health professionals who received Continuing Medical Education credits for attending.
Among the 30 world class speakers, conference cochair Dr Lisa Nagy was in a class by herself: funny, tragic and captivating, based on both her experience as an emergency and environmental physician as well as her brush with death as a victim of mold poisoning which caused her environmental hypersensitivities. Here is an excerpt of her great talk.
Lisa Lavine Nagy M.D. graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Pennsylvania and then from Cornell Medical College in 1986. After Emergency Medicine residency in NYC she practiced in Los Angeles until becoming severely–as a result of a complex medical condition known as Chemical Sensitivity or Environmental Illness.
Her story of survival and journey of discovery which led her to learn about the field of Environmental Medicine and it’s focus on finding the causes of disease including genetic, hormonal, nutritional, allergic, and environmental factors. She is now president of Preventive and Environmental Health Alliance which is a group focused on educating medical students, doctors, the AMA, congress and the public and assists patients to find help nationwide. Listening to physicians and other people who have developed severe Environmental Illness is the first step towards helping the 75 million people in the country with various health issues, including autoimmunity, autism, even ‘Chronic Lyme’ related to their environments. She is the medical director of Environmental Health Center of Martha’s Vineyard and effectively treats the country’s sickest patients.
She has delivered talks at: National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences in 2016, Congressional Subcommittee on Veterans Health 2015, The University of Pennsylvania Medical School, the EPA in Boston, and was the keynote speaker on the health effects of mold after Super Storm Sandy in NYC in 2013. She is the Communications Liaison for the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, Vice Chair of the Integrative Medicine Consortium and on a roundtable on Building and Health at the NIH. She has been featured on TV shows such as “Nightline”, “The Doctors” on EMF intolerance, “White House Chronicles” on mold and CFS, and a Netflix series on afflicted patients. 3) A member shared an article about a sonic weapon China has developed for crowd control.
Chinese scientists develop handheld sonic weapon for crowd control
“The rifle-shaped instrument, which was jointly developed with military and law enforcement, is designed to disperse crowds using focused waves of low frequency sound, the academy’s Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry website said on Wednesday.
The device’s “biological effect” would cause extreme discomfort, with vibrations in the eardrums, eyeballs, stomach, liver, and brain, scientists said.
Studies dating to the 1940s found that low frequency sound energy could, depending upon intensity and exposure, cause dizziness, headaches, vomiting, bowel spasms, involuntary defecation, organ damage and heart attacks.”
4) From an article in April, Rogers is asking for government support for 5G by the big fellows, at the expense of the competitors and the public. No mention of safety or privacy issues. Only about spreading 5G as quickly as possible before scientific evidence proves how dangerous this technology is. And look at the money the government rakes in with sales of frequencies. Truly, this is a conflict of interest. The government has a vested interest in selling wireless access just as the companies do.

During this period, wireless operators including Rogers are planning to spend billions to buy the spectrum and deploy the small cells that will enable 5G technology….
Earlier this month, Rogers bid $1.7 billion on 600 MHz spectrum licences required for 5G….
The next critical spectrum release is slated for 2020, when the government will auction 3500 MHz licences. The following year, it will auction millimetre wave spectrum that completes the trio needed for 5G.”

We too continue to be threatened by BC Hydro by letter and by phone.
I am ccing the email I sent to our head politicians, and BCUC who wrote back stating they have been disarmed by the previous government regarding smart meters and I also cced Customer Meters at BC Hydro.
BC Hydro called again today threatening us stating they are coming to replace our analog with a radio-off on Sept 30 and if we don’t comply will disconnect our service and a $700 will be charged to reconnect.
I indeed to file a complaint with the BC Human Rights Tribunal.

I have attached another threatening letter we recently received from BC HYDRO. BC HYDRO has continued to harass our family regarding the installation of a smart meter.
In August after receiving a notice regarding a change of meter [also received one Jan 2019], I called and explained to BC HYDRO yet again that a digital meter is not an option for us due to health reasons primarily because of my husband’s compromised health and his multiple disabilities.
I also have issue with the risks of fire and home insurance coverage, personal data collection and privacy and the fact that a ‘radio-off’ meter is not controlled by us but by the utility company and can be turned on at any time at the discretion of the latter unbeknownst to us.
Now we are being THREATENED WITH DISCONNECTION if we do not comply even though our bills are paid in full and on time and we are paying a legacy fee. We are told there are no more analog meters to exchange with our expired one even though they are readily available to people in other provinces.
Under CANADA’S HUMAN RIGHTS ACT I believe this is an ACT of HARASSMENT AND THREAT and a violation against persons with DISABILITIES.
As the provincial government and provincial commission in charge of utilities, we believe you are not protecting our rights.
We have been given until Sept 16, 2019 to respond to this threatening letter regarding disconnection from BC Hydro.I am leaving you responsible to resolve this issue once and for all by the date indicated by BC Hydro before something happens to our property, home and family.

This letter is my FINAL REFUSAL NOTICE AND RESPONSE to your continued harassment via letters and phone calls threatening to install a microwave device (wireless smart meter) on my home in spite of my previous correspondence CATEGORICALLY REFUSING THIS MICROWAVE DEVICE AND REFUSING YOU ENTRY to my property for the express purpose of CHANGING the current meter for said microwave device.
Given the existing and developing scientific and professional concerns regarding the person and property risks from fire as well as incalculable risks to health, safety and security from these microwave devices, I continue to refuse the placing of such a device on my property, in any location. You are hereby prohibited AT ANY TIME, NOW AND IN THE FUTURE, from entering my property for the purpose of installing such a microwave device.
I have a growing daughter, a husband with multiple disabilities and myself, none of whom wish to be a human experiment by being unnecessarily exposed to serious health risks caused by a microwave device [not to mention our invasion of privacy and choice].
You assert your contractual right to “access” your equipment. I agree that you may continue to access this property and your equipment for the purpose of reading the present non-radiofrequency radiation meter. If our current meter needs replacement, you may replace it with a safe and secure analogue meter.
I interpret your actions of continued harassment and threatening behaviour as abuse of power by a monopoly and a clear violation of the rights and freedoms afforded to me by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms as enshrined in our Canadian Constitution. Your departure from the very foundation of our social structure and violation of our basic democratic process is evidenced by the need to protect people from such actions via the Human Rights Class Action lawsuit approved against BC Hydro.
You are on notice that my family and I rely on our power supply from BC Hydro for our health and livelihood. In the event that you cut off power to my home as a result of my refusal to allow you to install a microwave device at my home, I will consider you to have breached the Tariff, and I will hold you accountable for damages in that regard.
As a customer of this public utility, I demand you immediately institute CHOICE at no cost by way of an opt out program which can be accessed by all of us who unequivocally refuse microwave device smart meters on our property. BC Hydro and the BC Liberals are well aware that opt out provisions are now being mandated in most places where smart metering is being implemented, including Quebec. I stand resolute in my demand to be respected as your customer and as a citizen of British Columbia, Canada.
All harassment, intimidation and threats to me or my family by BC Hydro’s employees or assigns in their efforts to force a microwave device upon me against my will, despite being condoned by the BC Liberals, must stop immediately.
