The study, made public this week, is being published in the journal Environmental Research, and it suggests consumers should take extra precautions when they see only one or two “bars” of reception on their mobile phones.
“With a weak signal, what happens is your phone puts out a lot more radiation to make the connection with the cell tower,” explained Joel Moskowitz, director of the Center for Family and Community Health at the University of California Berkeley’s School of Public Health. He says the implications of the study are important not only for families who live in rural areas where there might be limited reception, but also for people who live and work in urban areas.
“This would strongly urge that people should not use cell phones in elevators or moving vehicles or public transit … or in a basement or a building with steel beams where the signal is likely to be very weak, because not only are you exposing yourself to very high levels of cell phone radiation, you’re exposing all those people around you.””
3) As more and more people are using solar power and going off grid, San Diego Gas and Electric, a major utility in South California, is looking to stop selling electricity. Community Choice Aggregations (CCAs), as I understand it, would allow local control over the power produced and sold via solar panels, etc. This seems to be in recognition of the death spiral for utility companies and seems to be similar to what Dr. Timothy Schoechle [http://gettingsmarteraboutthesmartgrid.org/] has recommended. It could allow local control and also protect the users from the misuse/hacking of the grid.
Why SDG&E wants to get out of the business of buying electricity
With California’s grid going through dramatic changes, San Diego Gas & Electric has approached the Legislature in Sacramento with a proposal that, at least at first blush, sounds pretty radical — it wants to get out of the business of buying and selling electricity.

Wireless convenience causing medical inconvenience!
For many years I studied the area of ‘wireless’ radiation and I am deeply concerned for the health of the general public.
I have witnessed volumes of studies suggesting the carcinogenicity of microwave frequency radiation ignored, denied, denigrated, or even attacked by irresponsible and negligent public health officials. They repeat the mantra of ‘no convincing evidence of harm’ (a term coined by the tobacco industry) at the same time as hundreds of the world’s top research scientists petition the WHO for changes to public health exposure standards on an urgent basis. Since 1998 there have been many appeals to the WHO involving thousands of scientists and medical doctors petitioning for more protective standards. Little of this news reaches you, being screened out by mainstream media (almost universally owned also by wireless companies) addicted to industry advertising dollars. Meanwhile, short-sighted politicians give their nod to industry profits over our children’s health. But it is not too late for you and your family to develop awareness of the dangers of existing and proposed new sources of radiation such as the coming 5G mini cellular towers to be placed in front of every fifth or eighth home.
Many of you reading this may be too young to remember, but we’ve been through many other predictable public health disasters such asbestos, tobacco, lead, thalidomide, DDT, and other products. Invariably industry claims their products safe and seeks to muddy the scientific waters by demanding 100% proof of harm to prolong the debate as long as possible. In the meantime, many will lose their health and lives.
For your family’s sake please pay attention to the most recent and best science in this area. The U.S. NIH National Toxicology Program study (NTP) https://ntp.niehs.nih.gov/results/areas/cellphones/index.html and the Italian Ramazzini study, two of the most meticulously designed and executed studies ever conducted, both conclusively linked wireless to cancer causation and malignant heart tumors. The French CERENAT study of 2014 reported a doubling of brain tumors with a doubling of exposure and a tripling with a tripling of exposure. Wireless is a probable carcinogen, and exposures for all of us are now ubiquitous.
