1) A member reports that Telus is busy laying fiber optic cable in Courtenay, sending salesmen to homes telling people all the advantages of having fiber optic cable right up to your wireless modem. Please pass word to people who live in the area that Telus will attempt to change your phone from copperline to IoPL, and internet and TV to wireless – this is part of their package the salesmen do not bother to mention.

Of course, no mention that this is really to lay the groundwork for the microcells. I sure wish I understood why the effort to get those black boxes on the sides of homes, supposedly with fiber optic cable, when the microcells will be holding transmitters of various frequencies “providing” wireless internet, home, etc.
