1)    Reminder for those in the Victoria / Sooke area:

A reminder that Awareness Film Night will be screening “Generation Zapped” this Wednesday, December 13th. Children and teens are especially vulnerable, but we are all impacted by prolonged exposures to the RF radiation emitted during everyday use of wireless devices such as tablets, cell phones, laptops and wireless routers (as found in many classrooms, businesses and offices).  What does prolonged exposure look like?  Is airplane mode safe?  How do the Canadian Code 6 parameters compare to those set by other countries? Why are baby monitors a concern?

Protecting and safeguarding ourselves from these potential health and developmental risks will be the focus of the post screening Q&A with Katharina Gustavs (katharinaconsulting.com).  After performing hundreds of EMF and RF assessments, and with her background in environmental and occupational health, building biology and nutrition, she is able to share her knowledge of the small changes we all can make to measurably reduce RF exposure.

7-9 p.m. Edward Milne Community School theatre 6218 Sooke Rd. in Sooke.  Katharina will be available from 6:30 if you arrive with questions. By donation. awarenessfilmnight.ca

Consider bringing a food item (or 10) for the EMCS students’ “10,000 Tonight” drive for the Sooke Food Bank being held on the same evening.”

2)    ICNIRP (the International Commission on Non Ionizing Radiation Protection) is a body comprised largely of military and industry “members” who established and maintain the guideline for RF exposure limits that have been followed by most developed countries, including the Canada’s Safety Code 6, as well as WHO.  It has remained unchanged for 20 years despite the proliferation of new RF devices and all of the studies showing that the levels were not protective.  Apparently the guidelines have been under review since 2014 yet remain unchanged.

Revision of the HF Guidelines

Dec 2017

Note on the Revision of the High-Frequency Portion of the ICNIRP 1998 EMF Guidelines

ICNIRP’s current guidelines for the high-frequency (100 kHz – 300 GHz) portion of the electromagnetic spectrum were published in 1998. Given the large body of relevant research that has been generated since those 1998 guidelines, ICNIRP is now revising the guidelines to incorporate this literature.

The revision of the guidelines has been underway since 2014, and a public consultation version of the updated guidelines is expected within the first half of 2018. Given this timing, ICNIRP has been asked whether, in the interim period, the current guidelines can still be considered as protective. This is a very reasonable question, particularly given that changes are anticipated in the revised guidelines.”

3)    Dr. Mercola continues his articles about microwave radiation, with information from Dr. Klinghardt about the relationship between RF exposure and autism, sterility and other chronic diseases.

The Importance of Electromagnetic Field Remediation In the Treatment of Chronic Disease

Practical Nighttime Remediation Strategies

One of the best prevention strategies I’ve found so far is to eliminate exposure to extremely low frequency (ELF; frequencies in the 50 to 60 Hz range) electric and magnetic fields during sleep, as this is a most important time for your brain. During deep sleep, your brain’s glymphatic system is activated, allowing it to detoxify and eliminate accumulated waste products, including amyloid-beta proteins, which are a hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease.

In most areas, the only way to do that is by turning off the electricity to your bedroom by flipping the circuit breaker…

I have become firmly convinced uncontrolled EMF exposure is a major, hidden factor that contributes to virtually all chronic disease, and hinders recovery. Klinghardt’s clinical experience supports this view, as patients rarely get well unless or until they start taking EMF remediation seriously.”

Subject: Site C and Smart Meter Program

In your election campaign, you led us all to believe that you would cancel the Site C Dam project. We have all been waiting for this to happen and now it is going around that you are refusing to speak to members about this subject and that your plan is to push through the OK to go ahead with the project over Christmas when everybody’s interests are elsewhere.

I must tell you that my husband, son and I all changed our votes from the Liberal party to the NDP because we felt that you would not fall into the same dishonesty as Christy Clark and her band of crooks did. I am now beginning to wonder about that.

Shutting down Site C is a no brainer. You have been told about how unstable the land is where the dam is being built. You know that the First Nations in the area will lose not only their lands but sacred lands as well. The unions are wrong when they say that jobs will be lost because more jobs will be created putting the lands back to what they were before this fiasco. It is also said that the remedial work will last longer than the actual build.

You and your party were against the smart meter program from the start and now you are just ignoring it and seem to be giving BC Hydro what it wants which is not good for the people of this province. I know that people have written to you and Minister Mungall about the program and about how their bills have increased greatly since the meters were installed. I have myself just started a similar survey in Agassiz, where I live, and the response has been phenomenal. Bills have risen on average 30 – 40% from when the smart meters have been installed. How about businesses who are charged for more power when the business is closed and nothing is running. Hydro won’t even look at that. I don’t think I need to tell you what a fire hazard these pieces of garbage are as Sharon Noble has sent you a lot of information on that fact.

During my chats with people here in town, I was told by a gentleman that a good friend of his is an installer for Hydro and that this friend told him that the only reason that Corix, with it’s poorly trained people, was brought in is because BC Hydro installers refused to install these meters as they knew them to be unsafe.

So please, John, do not go back on your election words. PLEASE stop Site C and the Smart Meter Program.

Subject: Wi-Fi free zone please on ferries

Dear Mr. Collins,

That’s very good that you are no longer going to permit smoking on BC Ferries in the new year.  You are showing concern for the health of workers and passengers.

Even more invasive to the health of everyone, though, is Wi-Fi.

Now that you are not allowing people to stay in their vehicles on the lower two decks, there is no safe place for passengers who are trying to avoid the burden Wi-Fi causes on our cells and organs, as it is in my case.  There might be some safe spots outside on the deck, but it’s a little cold there at this time of the year.

It would be simple enough to convert one of the pet areas into a Faraday cage.  You could even have it serve a double purpose,  and protect both pets and passengers.  There are experts who could advise you on how it could be done.  There is a Building Biologist out in Sooke.

Also, it was disappointing to learn that there are no more pay phones on the ferries. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone has cell phones.  We don’t have any in our family.

I hope you will take my concerns seriously.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
X

Subject: re. tobacco free ferries

Dear Mr. Collins,

I would like to congratulate you and the decision makers at B.C. Ferries for your new smoke free policy.  May I suggest your team research another carcinogen that will need to be addressed in order for you to truly “support the health and wellness of your customers and your employees”;  wireless radiation.

Many customers, that have no choice but to use the ferries, are disabled by electromagnetic sensitivities. In 2011, the World Health Organization elevated exposure of wireless radiation into the Class 2B list of Carcinogens.  This change in Cancer classification applied to ALL non-ionizing radiation, no matter the source.  Recent research strengthens the level of evidence regarding carcinogenicity and bio-toxic effects to life. Today, scientists the world over are calling for this 2B designation to be reclassified to a minimum of a 2A Cancer Classification. This would render Canada’s Safety Code 6 obsolete and biologically non-protective.

I include this statement from The American Academy of Environmental Medicine  https://www.aaemonline.org/pdf/WiredSchools.pdf  for your perusal.

“The AAEM strongly supports the use of wired Internet connections, and encourages avoidance of radiofrequency such as from Wi-Fi, cellular and mobile phones and towers, and “smart meters.” The peer reviewed, scientific literature demonstrates the correlation between RF exposure and neurological, cardiac, and pulmonary disease as well as reproductive and developmental disorders, immune dysfunction, cancer and other health conditions. The evidence is irrefutable.”

With this information I would suggest that it would be prudent for your corporation to institute a ‘wi-fi free area’ for those passengers who are EHS.  It has taken us over 30 years to understand the harmful effects of tobacco. I hope we can be more proactive with electro-magnetic radiation issues and find ways to support the public’s safe use of this wireless technology.

Thanks for your consideration of this matter.
