1) A reminder for those in the Victoria/Sooke area, a new film “Generation Zapped” will be shown on Dec. 13 as part of Awareness Film Night. Full details are below in Letters.

2) A long-time EMF fighter, Walt McGinnis, will be interviewed.
Thursday, 7th December at 1:00 p.m. EST (10 AM PST or 6 PM GMT)

3) Another study has found that people with EHS have changes in their brains that non-EHS people do not experience when exposed to EMR/EMF. This one uses MRI to show changes as they occur.
Pilot Study Shows Dramatic Difference In Brain Activity With EHS (Electrohypersensitive) Cases As Compared To Controls (Non EHS).
“EHS or “electrohypersensitivity” in civilian terms, “microwave radiation poisoning” in military terms, is an RF (radio frequency) or microwave radiation induced illness who’s very existence is hotly debated by government and wireless industry scientists and personnel. This study provides evidence that abnormalities exist in the EHS brain that are not present in the non EHS brain and could put an end to the debate on the existence of EHS. It also defies the widely held governmental and wireless industry stance that wireless devices and infrastructure have no consequences to human health and could impact the prevailing opinion of wireless radiation being deemed safe.”

4) An excellent summary of the many problems that have occurred (and been ignored) by utilities and governments alike.
“Smart” Meters: Recalls, Replacements, Fires, Explosions, General Failure, Measurement Errors, Privacy Concerns, Cybersecurity Risks, and Sick People
“In 2011, Consumers Digest predicted that “Smart” Meters “represents little more than a boondoggle that is being foisted on consumers by the politically influential companies”: “Why Smart Meters Might Be a Dumb Idea.”
So it’s not all that surprising that so far – hundreds of thousands of “Smart” Meters have been recalled and/or replaced throughout North America due to various reasons including fires, explosions, general failure, and measurement errors. There are utility companies who are already making plans to replace hundreds of thousands more.
All over the world, concerned citizens, elected officials, and organizations have been fighting to keep “Smart” Meters out of their communities due to health, safety, privacy, and cybersecurity concerns. When they haven’t been able to completely stop utilities, they fight for the right to “opt out” of “Smart Meters” being installed on their homes and businesses.”
5) The various health authorities parse their words, careful not to say that EMR is dangerous but also not wanting to say it’s safe. Perry Kendall, for example, says that he has never said that Wi-Fi is safe yet he repeatedly says there is no evidence of harm. Doesn’t ‘no harm’ = ‘safe’ ? These people who support industry play with words. Dr. Mary Redmayne has followed the minor changes in the Australian guidelines – which mean so much. I’m sure if we traced minor wording changes of Safety Code 6, Health Canada and Kendall statements, we’d find the same thing.
WHO, ICNIRP, ARPANSA: Subtle changes in wording over the years are quite revealing
“Organisations such as the World Health Organisation (WHO), International Commission on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) and Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) are very particular in how they express their assessments of safety and risk; small changes are made from time to time replacing previous documents. This suggests it is necessary to take all words into account, carefully considering the difference between old and new.”
Letters:
Children and teenagers are particularly vulnerable, but we are all being exposed to health risks from the Wi-Fi radiation that is emitted during everyday use of tablets, cell phones, laptops and wireless routers at home and in classrooms, offices and businesses. On December 13th, Awareness Film Night will present the newly-released film “Generation Zapped” which investigates the potential effects of our wireless technology on our health and well-being as well as on the physical and emotional development of our children.
We often read or hear media reports that claim there is no research proving that radiofrequency (RF) radiation signals are harmful to people, animals, plants or insects. But much of the research, like that of the cigarette industry 50 years ago, is simply not being allowed into the media spotlight. “Generation Zapped” brings together Canadian and international experts, including: a brain development researcher, oncologists, a pediatric neurologist, public health specialists and a pediatric cancer researcher speaking out about the growing mountain of scientific evidence on the health, developmental and social effects of prolonged exposure to wireless technology.
Filmmaker Sabine El Gemayel notes: “As a mother of teenagers I am concerned with the shadow side of wireless technology on our children….the increased health risks and how it is sociologically impacting children’s development and behavior…..I love technology and the many conveniences it has offered us, yet I believe that increased transparency is vital….I invite audiences to consider the case for honoring the precautionary principle…..slow down, turn it off at night and ‘plug it in’ “.
Being aware of these dangers can be unsettling to those of us who, likewise, are lovers of technology, but “Generation Zapped” also provides hope by suggesting simple how-to guidelines for better protecting and safeguarding ourselves and our families from their potential health-disrupting effects.
Protecting and safeguarding will also be the focus of our post-screening Q&A with Katharina Gustavs (www.katharinaconsulting.com). Katharina believes that electromagnetic fields matter. After performing hundreds of EMF and RF radiation assessments and with her background in environmental and occupational health, building biology and nutrition, she knows that even small changes can have major positive effects, and she enjoys developing strategies on how to measurably reduce our exposure. Katharina recently translated the EMF Guideline for the Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment of EMF-related Health Problems and Illnesses by the European Academy for Environmental Medicine.
The film night will be held at the EMCS theatre as usual. The movie will start at 7:00, but Katharina will be there early to answer quick questions prior to the film, as well as leading the post-screening discussion and answering questions raised after seeing the film. Admission is by donation. Info: www.awarenessfilmnight.ca
Please consider bringing a food item (or 10) for the EMCS students’ “10,000 Tonight” drive for the Sooke Food Bank being held on the same evening.

Subject: Site C & BC Hydro Smart Metering Projects
Dear Mr. Horgan, AG Eby, Ministers Mungall and James,
In the last election, we voted for the NDP to end the Liberal madness – which includes stopping Site C and properly reviewing the BC Hydro Smart Metering program. These two enormously expensive and harmful projects are truly insane.
British Columbians need you to step up and use some common sense. We can’t afford the never-ending costs: money, health, and environment.
If you do not stop Site C and order the BCUC to properly investigate and review the suspicious industry-connected BC Hydro Smart Metering program, we will not vote for the NDP again.
This is serious and we are not kidding! At 62 and 70 years of age, we are not wearing rose-coloured glasses. The NDP must take immediate action to represent and protect the citizens of British Columbia. That is your job! We do not have bottomless bank accounts and you may discover that people will move away from British Columbia and all the ripple effects that will result from these two gigantic problem projects.
Sincerely,
X
Sharon Noble
Director, Coalition to Stop Smart Meters
“Nor, as others have suggested do I make statements that such radiation is safe.”
