1) Recently, I mentioned that Idaho has wired smeters and uses fiber optic cable to transmit data. In some areas, consideration is being given to using fiber optic cable for internet – which will provide much faster, safer and more secure access. Here is some general info about fiber optic cable. I think we should be pushing the NDP to review the current smeter program and, if we cannot have our analogs back, then consider using the fiber optic cable that Telus is installing for the microcells and 5G with wired smeters.

Fund Fiber Optic Broadband, NOT WIRELESS Broadband
The United States is planning its future broadband infrastructure. Public input asking for safe, secure, reliable, extremely high speed, and energy efficient is needed. Fiber optic broadband delivers all these.

2) Digital pills that communicate with “smart” phones. Internal RF-emitting devices, wearing patches to send out RF signals. People with problems like bipolar disorder have difficulty sleeping. This will just make it worse!! Not only dangerous to health but what about privacy? Another IoT device.
FDA approves pill with sensor that digitally tracks if patients have ingested their medication
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved the first drug in the U.S. with a digital ingestion tracking system. Abilify MyCite (aripiprazole tablets with sensor) has an ingestible sensor embedded in the pill that records that the medication was taken. The product is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia, acute treatment of manic and mixed episodes associated with bipolar I disorder and for use as an add-on treatment for depression in adults.
The system works by sending a message from the pill’s sensor to a wearable patch. The patch transmits the information to a mobile application so that patients can track the ingestion of the medication on their smart phone. Patients can also permit their caregivers and physician to access the information through a web-based portal.

4) Below is some correspondence from Elizabeth May’s office in response to a letter re. the US Navy’s EMR wargames planned for the Olympic Peninsula. This is the first response from an MP’s office I’ve seen. It says that Elizabeth has been involved in the Growler situation and she included a 2015 letter from the US Ambassador. Unfortunately, there is nothing more recent. Elizabeth is very knowledgeable about the RF health problems and is equally concerned about the environment.
Hopefully, as Jana says, others will consider writing to Elizabeth as well as other MPs about this issue – I know many of us wrote to various MLAs and MPs and never received a response. Below is the status as of the last notice I’ve received. Don’t any of our elected officials care? Don’t they see that our environment is being threatened by this activity? Hopefully, if Elizabeth gets more letters about this issue, she will put pressure her colleagues and the US government.

Subject: Elizabeth replies — finally
Hello Sharon,
Back in August (the 19th), I sent a copy of my missive about Growlers and the electromagnetic radiation war games scheduled to be taking place on the west coast, to Elizabeth May. Today I received her reply; however, I have to question who it was who actually wrote the reply? Notice the blue print below Elizabeth May’s name / title. Somehow someone doing her correspondence for her obviously forgot to delete that. So, I’m not sure I have any faith in any of this anymore.
Nevertheless, I am forwarding it to you to share with others should they be inclined to write to her, as well as other parliamentarians, because the US Army / Navy simply cannot be allowed to proceed with these preposterous plans.
Below her response is a copy of a letter [see link to the letter] from the previous US ambassador to Canada dating back to 2015 — a letter he sent to her. Unfortunately, such polished diplomatic exchanges are about as hope inspiring as a hole in a rubber dingy!

November 1, 2017
Dear Ms. Kalina,
Thank you for sharing your concerns surrounding the US Navy’s activities along the Olympic Peninsula coastline, and I appreciate all the information you shared regarding the impact of these activities on both the environment and those of us who live in the vicinity. I apologize for the delay in replying.
I assure you that I have been active on this issue, and I continue to engage with US officials about the Naval Air Station on Whidbey Island. Attached in this e-mail is a letter I received from Bruce Heyman, the previous United States Ambassador to Canada replying to my letter expressing concern about the growlers. The usage of growlers and electromagnetic radiation is concerning, and I will have my team research the issue and look into what we can do.
Thank you again for writing. I applaud your interest and concern, and I hope you will continue to take action on the issues that matter to you. It is an honour to serve as your Member of Parliament.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth May, O.C.

Can you reply to Jana and include this letter? Say that she continues to engage with US officials on this issue.
