2) Many cities are upset with the FCC’s give-away of municipal rights and the right to charge fees to telecoms using public rights of way for 5G technology and billions $$ in profit.
Cities will sue FCC to stop $2 billion giveaway to wireless carriers
Cities are planning to sue the Federal Communications Commission over its decision to preempt local rules on deployment of 5G wireless equipment.
Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan and City Attorney Pete Holmes yesterday said their city intends to appeal the FCC order in federal court. Seattle will be coordinating with other cities on a lawsuit, they said.
“In coordination with the overwhelming majority of local jurisdictions that oppose this unprecedented federal intrusion by the FCC, we will be appealing this order, challenging the FCC’s authority and its misguided interpretations of federal law,” they said in a press release.
Mayor Durkan and City Attorney Holmes Announce Seattle Will Appeal FCC’s Proposed Rules That Strip Local Authority Over 5G Rollout
“Seattle strongly opposes this overreach by the Trump administration. Instead of expediting the deployment of high speed internet or addressing digital inequity, the FCC’s actions impede local authority and will require cities to subsidize the wireless industry’s deployment for private gain, giving away public property without asking for anything in return.
3) BC Hydro reports outages on a regular basis, whether due to cars hitting poles, wind bringing lines down, or winter storms, many thousands of people are inconvenienced and face power surges that could damage their homes and risk their safety. The money that this costs is immense. If the money being spent, in perpetuity, on the smeter program plus the money for repairs were put into installing lines underground, the infrastructure would be so much better and safer.
If you want to track outages, you can set up a Google Alert for BC Hydro outages.
4) The Trump government has decided that the current radiation exposure levels are not all that important and a little bit of radiation actually might be good!!! Science is being done away with in the USA it seems.
Radiation? Chemicals? No big deal, says the Trump administration.
“New regulations floated by the Environmental Protection Agency are set to increase Americans’ exposure to radiation — because, according to scientific theory now in favor with the Trump administration, radiation is not bad for us. It may even be healthy!
The Associated Press reports this week: “The EPA is pursuing rule changes that experts say would weaken the way radiation exposure is regulated, turning to scientific outliers who argue that a bit of radiation damage is actually good for you — like a little bit of sunlight.””

Subject: power vs health
Dear Mr. Horgan,
I would much prefer to speak with you as another human being…. rather than the head of the NDP party – but I understand how busy your life must be with the kinds of commitments – as a political leader – that you’re dealing with, in this very challenging time we’re all living through.
So expecting that this email will probably not reach you directly anyway, I will simply add my voice to the growing number of BC residents who have taken the time to do the research on EMR – smart meters – the prospects of 5-G etc.… I too want to ask you what has happened to your acknowledgement that those who didn’t want a smart meter could keep their reliable analog one. I have received the “letter” from BC Hydro – preparing me for a change to a non-analog…. radio off meter…. which I still don’t want…. for many practical reasons. So I am including a letter at the end – written by someone else, which contains all the salient data….
Apart from EMR proliferation – there is a vast array of other consequences resulting from our basic neoliberal paradigm that holds ‘all power’ within the straitjacket of Corporate goals of increasing profits and growth – while labelling planetary devastation as inconvenient externalities.
Our worldview cannot remain unchallenged when the entire planet is suffering paroxysms of dis-ease as the billions of years of dynamic, alive, organic balance are upended – and treated like a flawed and inconvenient machine that has no intelligence. Hubris and ignorance have a human face that can be recognized in Mr T. who creates whatever reality his identity as the most powerful man in the world requires….
But truth and reality continue to exist and unfold despite all delusions to the contrary…. and the intelligence of an inconceivably complex biological system, of which we are only one tiny part, will evolve to a conclusion whether or not we deny it – or wake up and begin to collaborate with this billions-of-years-old life form – if we are to continue our existence here.
EMR is just one among countless harmful pollutants (like glyphosate and GMO’s) that are part of a “power” agenda that is economically lucrative to only a very few, while exacting untold costs both now and into the future upon all biological life forms.
The tipping point – for extinction – or possibly a difficult healing – is closer than many realize, so it would be in your own best interests to look at the evidence provided by impartial and concerned (non-industry) scientists and researchers – philosophers – wisdom speakers – and much more personally – the essence of your own heart…

Subject: Your election campaign promises & the right to have an analogue meter at a reasonable cost.
The summary below from a taxpayer says it all. I wonder why you are so dismissive of this issue considering it’s impact on human health and the environment, particularly when you have a minority in the legislature?
When John Horgan was in the minority he promised to recognize and acknowledge the right of those who did not want a smeter to not have one. He seems to have forgotten the commitments he made and the help we gave him to get elected. Please – remind him. From the start Horgan’s primary concern was the costs. Rightly so, he argued that this $billion was unnecessary. What has he done now that he knows this is a never-ending expenditure? Many people have complained to me that he won’t answer emails and his staff at his constituency office is rude and refuses to allow meetings. Is this the John Horgan we knew and elected? I still have received no acknowledgement of my 600+ page Fire Report – and fires are continuing to occur.
